El Silencio Lodge & Spa
Close to Poas Volcano and in the middle of the cloud forest, the stylish El Silencio Lodge & Spa was built with locally sourced wood and each of the fifteen luxurious cabins have floor to ceiling glass doors that open up to the surrounding forest, river, or mountains.
The outside deck has rocking chairs and at night you can do some star gazing from your private whirlpool. Indoors the rooms have all the modern amenities, like a bathroom with double sinks, mini bar, safe, tea and coffee making facilities and an electric heater for those cooler nights. Due to its location Wi-Fi is only available in certain areas of the Lodge.
Both restaurants, the Las Ventas and the Hierbabuena use locally sourced ingredients like vegetables and herbs from the greenhouse on their organic mini-farm, where chicken also roam around freely. You can catch your own trout from the ponds that are on the grounds.
Each guest can plant their own tree and accompanied by a guide you can discover hummingbirds and waterfalls all within walking distance from your room.
