Vista Grande
Arguably the most-aptly named villa on the island, the sweeping ocean views from Vista Grande are spectacular, and this beautifully decorated, three-floored villa has everything you’ll need for a great family holiday on Madeira.
An open-plan living room is the heart of the villa, with floor-to-ceiling patio doors blurring the line between indoors and out. There’s also a large fully-equipped kitchen, a garage for private off-street parking, four bathrooms and three double bedrooms. The master bedroom has it’s own private sea view balcony, whilst the other bedrooms lead onto a wrap-around sun terrace – ideal for mornings by the private pool, afternoons relaxing in the garden, and evenings of alfresco dining.
It’s a short stroll to one of the island’s most famous landmarks – the statue of Cristo do Rei where you can take the cable car down to Praia do Garajau; a lovely spot for a swim, followed by lunch on the terrace of the Restaurante o Mero. Garajau itself is a bustling, modern south coast town with an excellent selection of cafebars, restaurants and shops within easy walking/driving distance. This south-eastern location is perfect for exploring eastern Madeira by car, with the historic town of Machico, the striking Ponta Sao Lourenco peninsula and the beautiful Parque Natural do Ribeiro Frio all within thirty-minutes’ drive.
