I’ve been part of the Archipelago Choice team for many years and have been lucky enough to visit the Azores and Madeira time and again, exploring all nine islands of the Azores in depth. What truly sets the Azores apart is the easy going warmth of the people and the beauty of the landscape. In many ways it’s reminiscent of the Lake District with its lush green hills and grazing cattle. Yet the islands’ volcanic origins present those wonderful Caldeira walks, soothing hot springs, volcanic sea pools, and, of course, the Portuguese cuisine.
More recently, my travels have taken me across mainland Portugal, where I’ve built lasting friendships. These local connections have opened doors to some of the country’s most special experience; hidden boutique vineyards, striking architecture, captivating historic towns, and the unforgettable scenery of the Douro Valley.
Portugal has so many merits and almost any type of holiday can be enjoy here, from beaches and walks to food and wine tours and historical monuments. If you fancy a visit, I’m be more than happy to chat through the experiences that will work best for your holiday paul@archipelagochoice.com
